Essential Seasonal Maintenance for Heavy Equipment

Seasonal temperature swings put real strain on hydraulic systems, undercarriages, and engine components. A short seasonal checklist can prevent costly failures mid-project.

Before peak summer heat, inspect coolant levels, radiator fins, and air filtration systems. Extreme heat accelerates hydraulic fluid breakdown, so shortening fluid-change intervals during the hottest months is good practice.

Track and undercarriage wear should be measured quarterly on any machine running more than 20 hours a week. Catching wear early is almost always cheaper than emergency track replacement in the field.
