Hydraulic system failures are among the most expensive heavy equipment repairs, but most are preventable with disciplined fluid and filter management.

Contamination is the leading cause of premature wear. Always clean fittings before connecting hoses, and replace breather filters on schedule to keep particulates out of the reservoir.

Operators should also avoid running hydraulics at full load immediately after cold starts — a short warm-up cycle lets fluid reach optimal viscosity and reduces wear on pumps and valves.
